What Kind of Tarot Reader am I?
Hello. My name is Louise Esther Rodd and I am not your typical ‘Tarot Reader. I am not a psychic medium who predicts futures. My skills and services are available for both people and for animals.
My intuition is the gift I use to guide people in their lives. As well as resourcing my own inner wisdom, I also study Buddhist teachings and refer to it’s wisdom also. I combine my own inner wisdom with Buddhist wisdom. Over the last 35 years, through reading for thousands of people, I have organically grown. I have evolved from a Tarot reader, into an Intuitive coach and life adviser. The imagery in the cards and my decades of working with the cards, are my doorway into your life.
My skills
My skill is to help people to see what doors are best for them to open, and which decisions will be the most rewarding for them to make. This is my specialty. A reading with me is like receiving your own cosmic map, which reveals the best path and direction for you. Whatever areas of life you want me to look at with you, I can help you. I began studying the Esoteric arts when I was around 13 years young. These have fascinated me since I was very young. I realised this was my path, and that could be a unique way to connect with people. When I was age 19, I tried out reading for others. People said that my readings were very helpful. This gave me confidence to start little by little. This is how I became my future self. The best way to learn Tarot, is to read for people and get that experience down. That’s an FYI, for anyone reading this, who wonders how to get better as a novice Reader.
My first Tarot residence was in Snoopers Paradise, in Brighton in 1996, age 22. I believe I was the first Tarot reader to be there. I am also self taught in Graphology, Astrology and Palmistry. At age 19, I met David Bowie, and read his palm. I asked him politely and he said yes! Unsurprisingly, he had a very unique hand and energy.
Other Life Skills
I lived in San Francisco for five years and it was here I built a large client base with Americans.
I also trained in business development which led me to working for a Web firm in California, and then later for Bloomsbury Publishing, in London. Helping to build businesses, has given me a great advantage to help clients with small businesses who want help to grow, by making the best choices to succeed. This gives me my other unique edge, the ability to brainstorm up the best ideas for people to create and make a successful path for themselves. My Background
I am a Brit, and I grew up in London. After living in several countries, I settled back in the UK, near the fabulous town of Brighton, in Sussex. My life has taken many turns, which has included being diagnosed with ADHD in 2023 and Addisons Disease in 2012, where I had to stop working in a successful Business development role, which I love doing. These have given me a lot of challenges and opportunities to expand my understanding of people with chronic diseases and neurodiversity.
Loss and Healing
Loss is something many of my clients have gone through. I have experienced both significant deaths in my life, and isolation during periods of ill health. Many of my clients live challenging lives, and I’m there to give them support and positivity. In my profession, being able to relate to others and show empathy are key. The Moon major arcana card, gives us the imagery of facing tough emotional challenges. I have used my own grief to transform my pain into an energy that helps others.
As a Buddhist, this is an essential part of my spiritual path. I trained in end of life hospice care, with Sutter Health, while I lived in San Francisco, in the 2000’s. I am now a bereavement support volunteer, with a leading UK charity and a volunteer with a loneliness charity, as a befriender. It humbles me just how amazing and brave people can be in the most challenging of times.
My Clients
People and Tarot are a source of joy to me and you should be able to feel that from a good reader. Through this I have lovingly built up a loyal and international client base who come from Alaska to Auckland. I have been a reader at the world famous esoteric shop, Watkins in London, and Crystal Way in San Francisco, where I lived for five years.

This has opened a whole world of amazing clients to me. I read for artists, CEO’s, scientists, film and theater directors, writers, small business owners, surf champions, therapists, spiritual teachers, global marketing directors, and some billionaires. It is the richness of people and their lives, that have been the best teachers for me.
One of my clients says I have a secret sauce that separates me from other readers. That is, I always find a light where it is needed and my readings always inspire, rather than just inform.
My aim is to help clients to understand their lives more clearly, and to help them develop their own inner wisdom. They can then support themselves and become more empowered in their day to day lives.
Intuitive Wisdom & Buddhism
After the death of my Mother at the age of 25, I found Buddhism. This changed my life and perspective of what wisdom is, forever. I quickly connected with a number of authentic Wisdom Masters, in 1999, and in particular, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, who very kindly accepted me as his ‘spiritual friend’ and began to teach me the basics of meditation and the teachings of the Buddha.
I attend retreats annually with my Teachers, and without them, I could not develop wisdom and insight at such a deep level. All of my training compliments and deepens my skills as an Intuitive reader perfectly. My main Teacher told me to make Tarot as my main work, and to always help others from a place of both wisdom and compassion.

The Deck
My Morgan Greer deck has been with me for over 20 years and they go everywhere with me. They have travelled to many sacred Buddhist and Christian Mystical sites. Glastonbury, is my favourite place to recharge them. My tarot cards are especially unique because they have been blessed by many great Masters, including His Holiness Dalai Lama. These Masters who have had readings and have made prayers over them, infused the cards with their own wisdom eyes.
